Catherine Blackledge

Dr Catherine Blackledge is the internationally acclaimed author of The Story of V: A Cultural History of the Vagina (Weidenfeld & Nicolson, 2003). She has reported on science and healthcare since 1993, writing for such diverse publications as the Financial Times, the Erotic Review and the international newspaper The European. She has also given numerous lectures to a wide variety of audiences, including the Cheltenham Science Festival, the Glastonbury Goddess Conference and Shhh! – Women’s Erotic Emporium. She has starred in The Vagina Monologues, been profiled for a Canadian television documentary, and has collaborated with the Fullbeam Visual Theatre company to produce a play rooted in her work.
