At this time every year the Mental Health Foundation helps to raise awareness and to generate public debates around mental health and wellbeing issues, stretching the importance of well-being, emotional welfare or mental health in living a fulfilled life. Mental health issues include serious long-term as well as minor conditions that can be experienced in everyday life. In fact everyone experience periods of stress, anxiety or uncomfortable feelings. The way we think and feel about ourselves impacts on our behavior and consequently on the way we cope with life and we fulfill our potential.
‘None of us is immune from the existential worry that nags away in the back of our mind’ writes Russell Razzaque in Breaking Down is Waking Up, but ‘deep down inside every bubbling cauldron of insecurity, we can also find the seeds of a kind of liberation’. As much as mental illness is frightening and challenging it also represents a way to uncovering spiritual revelations, unveiling an inner and undiscovered potential.
